Description
Vanadinite is a rare mineral of the class “phosphates, arsenates and vanadates”. It crystallizes in a hexagonal crystal system, creating short to long prismatic crystals, but also grape to earthy or radial aggregates in white, gray, yellow, orange or brown. Vanadinite was first discovered and described in 1838 in Zimapan, Mexico. It was named after the vanadium it contains.
