Description

Diopside –  CaMgSi2O6 is one of the most common members of the pyroxene group. The name comes from two Greek words dis-dual and ópsé-phenomenon in the sense of double orientation of its prismatic crystal. Diopside belongs to monoclinic system. Coloring is caused by small content of chromium.
